Spring Scents

In Beauty, Fragance on April 12, 2011 at 2:14 pm

Looking for a delicate spring fragrance to awaken your senses? My latest favorite fragrance is Lollia Eau De Parfum “In Love”. This scent is girly through and through – from the charmingly decaled glass bottles adorned with ribbons, crystals, blooms and birds to the scents housed within. The Lollia Eau De Parfum line comes in a variety of fragrances and you’ll be sure to find one that fits your personality.

In Love: the delicate aromas of apple blossom, jasmine and rose (FLORAL)

Wish: a sweet bouquet of sugarcane, vanilla bean and jasmine (FLORAL)

Relax: fresh notes of lavender, white orchid sweetened with Tahitian vanilla and honey (FLORAL)

Calm: Hyacinth mingles with pink pepper, fresh vetiver and heady amber (FLORAL)

Breathe: weightless whispers of peony, white lily, lavender and violet (FLORAL)

Gimme Some Sugar

In Beauty, Fragance on October 11, 2010 at 10:09 am

I sometimes wish for a time machine that will transport me back to a time when life was less stressful and more carefree; a time when my biggest concern was who I was going to ask to Sadie Hawkins or go with to the town fair on Friday night. Luckily, we can take an olfactory time warp backwards with Pink Sugar, a delicious body spray that tantalizes the senses with cotton candy and carefree times.

This spunky, sweet eau de toilette has notes of Bergamot, Sicilian Orange, Raspberry, Fig Leaves, Lily of the Valley, Licorice, Strawberry, Red Fruit, Cotton Candy, Vanilla, Caramel, Musk, Wood, and Powder in it. Whenever I don this fragrance, people will stop me on the street and ask me what I am wearing! Outside of the the ear to ear grin on my face, I tell them I am wearing Pink Sugar!

Sheer Delight

In Beauty, Fragance on May 26, 2010 at 5:30 pm

Each year, Stella McCartney reinvents her namesake fragrance with lush new notes, creating a limited-edition take on her iconic rose scent. This year’s Sheer Stella is enriched with a natural organic rose, grown by an Ecocert-awarded cooperative in the Persian mountains. Exclusive to Stella McCartney, an entire organic rose harvest was purchased to create the one-of-a-kind fragrance. Fresh, natural top notes of green apple, frosted lemon, and Bulgarian rose open into a romantic heart of celestial rose, rose absolute, and Iranian organic rose, grounded by a base of warm, sensual amber.

Success is a Job and Smells like it Too

In Fragance on December 17, 2009 at 4:49 pm

Looking for the perfect self-gift this year which encompasses the sweet smell of success? Bond No. 9’s latest scent conjures one of the most intoxicating (and elusive) elements of them all: money. The scent itself is spicy and sultry, with fresh citrus top-notes balanced by sexy floral and oriental undertones. It’s packaged in a sleek black bottle stamped with Andy Warhol’s iconic neon dollar sign, a pulsing, vibrant image that screams success. With any luck, this fragrance will have you reeking of success — or at the very least you’ll smell amazing.

Bond Perfume No. 9 – Andy Warhol Success is a Job is spicy-citrusy fragrance with top notes-coriander, cardamom, mandarin, bergamot-lead into a throbbing heart of jasmine, tuberose, rose, plum and pimento that eventually segues into an oriental base of vanilla, patchouli, and amber.

The Perfect Perfume

Sarah Horowitz Perfume

I am always on the hunt for the perfect perfume. Something sweet but not prostitute sweet, something that will stay on my skin longer than it takes me to walk from my house to my car, and something that is not popular. The worst is getting together with your friends and everyone smells the same because you all wear the most popular and hip perfume. A couple of years ago my olfactory system was wowed with what I called at the time, “sex in bottle”. This magical vile of perfume oil is sincerely the best smelling stuff ever!

Sarah Horowitz Parfum, Perfect Line is sheer gold. The line of fragrance includes: Perfect Veil, Perfect Bliss, Perfect Gardenia, Perfect Kiss, Perfect Nectar, and Perfect Vanilla. All of which are…eh hmm…perfect. All of the perfumes come in great little (and portable) roll-on bottle which is ideal for a mid-evening touch up!

If you not into buying a whole bottle of perfume before you smell it, Sarah Horowitz allows you to order samples off of her site for $1.75!

Trapped!

Trapp Candle

I will be the first to admit I have a candle problem, a bad one. I have tried them all: high end, low end, soy, wax, flameless and beyond. I always come back to Trapp.

Trapp candles are branded as “a bottle of perfume in every bottle” and this is pretty accurate. They fill a home with amazing fragrance, and these are not your mom’s country home scents. The Trapp collection has over 20 scents including Lemongrass Verbena, Mediterranean Fig, Bamboo Sugar Cane and my personal favorite Lavender de Provence.

Trapp candles are also a good value, they may seem a little pricey on the surface, but you get what you pay for. They use only fully-refined paraffin and soy wax that are matched with lead-free wicks to minimize soot and ensure the perfect burn. A large poured Trapp candle will give you 50 hours of burn time.

Trapp candles are an Oprah favorite which, as you know, means they are special.

They can be a little hard to find, I buy mine at a local flower shop, but I have seen a good assortment at Planet Beauty and they have a great website that lists retailers!
