French Beauty

In Beauty on March 9, 2011 at 10:47 am

Recently I have become fascinated by Gwyneth Paltrow and the superwomen she has become (oscar awarding winning, singing, fashionista, who is an entrepreneur and oh…did I mention gorgeous). Her website, Goop.com, is an interesting forum of information about what to eat, wear, do, see and live. I came across an article she wrote called “The French Pharmacy” and it breaks downs all of the beauty products we need to buy from France. You can read the article here. The product that most fascinated me was Embryolisse, which is a super-moisturizer that simultaneously cleans the skin (and helps eliminate zits), leaving it perfectly prepped for makeup and all of her makeup artists swear by the stuff! It also happens to be the makeup staple of all of the top models. Crème Onctueuse Raffermissante (Rich Firming Cream) is specially formulated with Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid, Elastin & the Complex Vitamins A, E & F. The combination improves skin tone and elasticity while wrinkles and lines become visibly softer.

Hey, if its good enough for Gwyneth, its good enough for me. Sign me up!

Cost: $75.00

Neutral Sandals: The Spring Must Have

In Fashion, Shoes on March 5, 2011 at 6:35 pm

Neutrals are back and bigger than ever this spring, along with pretty neutral sandals.

I love neutral sandals because they work both with your neutrals and with all your pretty spring dresses that you can’t quite properly match with a shoe.

The theory about neutral shoes is that they make your legs look longer by blending in with the color of your skin.

I’M IN. Check out these neutal wedges and sandals:

Steve Madden Riddgge $99.95

Aldo Orianne $100.00

Seychelles Purr Wedge Sandal $94.95

Steve Madden Turnpyke $89.95

Fitness Fashion Footwear

Watch out Kim Kardashian, Eva Mendes is on the new fitness fashion ‘it’ girl promoting Reebok’s Easy Tone footwear. With the recent onslaught of celebrities promoting these fitness shoes (Kardashian for Sketchers, Mendes for Reebok), it leads me to believe that there must be some merit to these wonder shoes. Mendes attests to the shoes workout efficacy by saying ““We all walk throughout the day. It’s just a great way to kind of get a workout while you’re doing your basic daily errands….Once you’re wearing them, you do feel your calves working.”

Kardashian states “While I was in New York I found it impossible to find time to work out (it was hard to even find a gym, LOL) so I was looking for ways to stay in shape and Shape-ups have already really impacted my fitness routine for the better.”

Clearly these women are being paid to promote a product so of course their reviews will be glowing…but it makes me think there is something worthwhile about these fitness shoes. I guess the advertising is working. ;)
