Blushing Beauty

In Beauty on February 16, 2010 at 5:48 pm

One thing that I do not leave home without applying is blush. A great blush has the ability to make you look younger, more refreshed, happier and more youthful (all things we strive to be). My most recent blush obsession is MAC Cosmetics Mineralized Blush in Gleeful. Gleeful is a dusty coral rose with gold shimmer that instantly lights up your cheeks and gives you the “just off a treadmill” glow. The baked minerals are refined into a powder formula to provide exceptionally sheer and lightweight application. You can build the color lightly, layer after layer, without heavy coverage; and it veils and enhances the cheekbones with a luminous, pearlized shimmer. LOVES!

I highly recommend Gleeful to girls (or boys) with any skin color…its just that good. 🙂

1970’s Surfer Chic

In Fashion on February 16, 2010 at 11:30 am

Spring is blooming at Top Shop. The new collection is drawing inspiration from the surfing culture of the 70’s (loves it), west coast america, and an air of sun-bleached, sporty designs. Sequin crop tops, hole-punched blazers and Hawaiian print shirts and shorts are just some of the looks we will be sporting in a few months. My favorite look in the collection is the Graffiti Maxi Dress by Unique. Oh, and I just adore the bandeau top underneath the boyfriend blazer (although I don’t I will be rocking that look).

Tarjay is Haute

In Fashion on February 12, 2010 at 4:18 pm

The designer collaborations with Target always create a whole lot of buzz. And when it was announced that Jean-Paul Gaultier would be doing a special collection for the big-box retailer, squeals of delight were heard round the world.

Gaultier has always been known for his sort of rock-and-roll, street-wear aesthetic and approach to clothing. And it looks like he is bringing those influences to this more affordable line.

Above are a few preview images of what you can expect in stores.

That tattoo pattern seems to be prevalent in the collection. It comes on a long-sleeved tee, a pair of mesh leggings and even a dress (not pictured). Other pieces include a cropped leather jacket, sweet green polka-dot dress, a few vests and even a khaki trench. I’m really loving the pretty yellow dress which will retail for $59.99. Can’t wait for Tarjay Haute Couture!

You can see some more preview photos over on Nitrolicious.com.

Bad Gal

In Beauty on February 11, 2010 at 5:45 pm

US Weekly’s Recessionista Blogger, Sasha Charnin Morrison, recently stated that one of the things she doesn’t leave home during fashion week is Benefit’s BadGal Eyeliner. This eyeliner is the beauty addicts dream and a makeup artists must-have. The powdery consistency of kohl makes this the ideal liner for straight lines or soft, sultry, smoky eyes. You can get so many great looks with this one pencil.

Even if your not at fashion week, you can look and act like you are.

Radiant You

In Beauty on February 9, 2010 at 4:19 pm

Jennifer Aniston’s skin always looks good. But why? Her most recent quiver in her skin care arsenal? Dr. Hauschka Radiant You kits, which launched last month. (Madonna is also a huge fan of the Dr. Hauschka line.)

Dr.Hauschka recognizes that skin is never in one state for very long, but is in a constant state of change, reinvention and renewal. We also understand that skin is “smart” and has a remarkable ability to respond to influences and adapt to different events and environments. Dr. Hauschka Skin Care products are made with the highest quality botanicals and mineral—ingredients naturally instilled with powerful nurturing properties that work in concert with the body’s rhythms and processes.

The set—which includes cleanser, toner, body oil, and a mask—are $6.99 a piece, but if you upload a video of you and your friends using the products, they’re entirely free (I’m so doing this).

Let’s face it: Clear skin is basically priceless so why not try out the latest celeb secret and holistically clean your way to perfect skin!
