The Elizabeth and James ladies consider this shirt to be a wardrobe staple, as in you can never have too many. Their pre-spring version of Cohen Gingham Check Shirt is an adorable oversized gingham check, which is a sassy way to update right now. It is a classic shirt style at front and seamed and sculpted at the back. In a rosy red and cream check (the rosy red actually looks more pink) or a black and cream check .

Trifecta Lips

In Beauty on January 19, 2010 at 4:27 pm

I’m not a big fan of matte lipsticks -their drying tendencies feel very uncomfortable as the day wears on, and the colors tend to look harsh and cracked on my lips, and I prefer not to wear glosses without lipstick. In that case, I may occasionally find myself in a bit of a conundrum if I’m looking for the best of both worlds. Many companies now offer lip products that combine all the color of a lipstick with the sheen and moisture of a gloss, but the problem is usually that the effects (both color and shine) do not last very long.

I came across the Laura Mercier Stickgloss selection while doing my usual walk through the cosmetic department one day. I’ve always had marvelous luck with Mercier’s products; everything from her body and skin care to her fragrances. The Stickglosses are marketed as something of a wonder product for the lips. Mercier states that they are part lip balm, part lip color and part Lip Glace (a richly-pigmented gloss in the Mercier lineup). If the claims are to be believed, it’s a moisturizer, lipstick and lip gloss in one. Loves it!

Available in 16 colors, each Stickgloss is $20 and promises to deliver endless color, shine and moisture to the lips.

Look-alike: Sex and the City 2

It’s official — Sarah Jessica Parker will be working on Halston’s Heritage line. So it’s fitting that she wore not one, but two Halston dresses on the set of Sex and the City 2. Do you love this Halston Heritage Electric Blue Metallic Stripe Dress? You can channel Carrie Bradshaw in it for $435. I love how the disco silhouette and accordion pleats are given a splash of modern via a vivacious hue and metallic fabric. Just lovely.

Eau de Vacation

In Beauty on January 18, 2010 at 4:07 pm

Inspired by her almond coconut bath and body gourmande collection, Laura Mercier created one of the most delicious scents I have ever put on my body. Her Almond Coconut Eau de Toilette captures the essence of almond, coconut milk, jasmine, rosewood, ylang-ylang, vanilla, tonka, heliotrope & musk. The coconut aroma is fresh but not overwhelming and when you wear it, you can practically picture yourself on a silicone sand beach sipping Pina Coladas.

This scent is truly a delicious vacation in a bottle!

Radiating Rapunzel

Beautiful hair is soft and silky, brushed to a sheen, clean and fragrant, well cut and styled to flatter the face. And these assets are within the grasp of anyone who is prepared to work at a simple hair care routine. Nature determines the texture of your hair, its natural elasticity and growth rate. All the other qualities depend largely on how – and how often – you use a good hairbrush and a shampoo.

The Mason Pearson Brush is one of the most popular brushes out there. These brushes are not mass produced. Most of the work is carried out by hand, using techniques pioneered and patented by the founder – Mason Pearson – over one hundred years ago and improved over succeeding generations. Depending on hair type and length, these boar and nylon bristle brushes are customized to your head to ensure shiny, healthy hair. They will cost you a couple of shinny pennies, but according to the massive reviews online, they are worth their weight in gold.
